Station Square
South Oxhey / Carpenders Park
Station Square will deliver approximately 21,000 sqft of retail / commercial floor space, creating an attractive and reinvigorated retail environment. Our design for a new public square and retail space creates an attractive new arrival experience for Carpenders Park Station. It forms part of the first phase of The South Oxhey Initiative - a town centre revival scheme in partnership with Three Rivers District Council, Home Group and Countryside.
The design overcomes some major challenges – from existing underground services, overhead power cables and re-organising several modes of transport to create a more inviting and pedestrian-friendly space. It injects a new energy through a series of new buildings, and a high quality public realm (landscape by Philip Cave Associates). It also gives the opportunity for several existing businesses to relocate into this phase. A dynamic triangular café and bike shelter forms an active, social focus for the square.
This is an exciting opportunity to transform a lacklustre vehicular route, dominated by traffic, into a new square, surrounded by a range of quality retail options, creating opportunities to shop and socialise.
