Mile End Park
Mile End, London
Mile End Park is a 92 acre leisure project designed to reflect its urban surroundings. One mile of park is transformed into five miles of play, sport, ecology, art and fun. Intensification of use has provided a basis for revenue generation, creating a unique demonstration project of social, cultural, environmental and financial sustainability.
The park exploits the ‘discovery experience’ of the great outdoors. It contains lakes, mountains and earth sheltered buildings; physical activity and spiritual restoration along with leisure, education and entertainment. At Mile End Park a place has been created that will engender popular appeal far into the future.
