Long Lane Studios Restoration
London Bridge, London
Achieving modern performance from heritage buildings requires sensitivity, particularly when part of the complex dates back to 1732 and is Grade II* listed. Suffering from a legacy of neglect and insensitive ad hoc conversions, this 18,000 sq ft complex required spatial reorganisation and complete refurbishment in order to reach its maximum potential.
A rigorous design process, with full involvement from English Heritage and the Local Authority conservation architects, resulted in a balance between careful restoration and modern interventions.
